A Rare item that has great appeal and color and is seen with the J.B. Taylor signature. Violet and Green. Portrait of King George V at right. Overprinted Rangoon is in either small or large letters on India #10. Watermark of King George V. This is variant d is with the Taylor signature and large Rangoon overprint. Other provisional issues included the 1917 ND 2 Rupees 8Annas. This 1927 ND Provisional Issue also included a 50 Rupees note.

Burma, now known as Myanmar, was annexed into the whole of British India in 1937. Burma was later separated as a British colony with limited self-government. During WWII, Burma was occupied by the Japanese and it was not until January 1948, after WWII, that Burma became an independent nation outside the British commonwealth. In 1989, the name was formally changed to Union of Myanmar.

This note is being offered in the Stack’s Bowers-Ponterio auction Last Month at an estimate of $4000-$5000 in VERY FINE condition with pin and spindle holes observed but which are quite typical for this type.
